We’re all pretty excited about connecting more with the fans of the films and giving them a behind the scenes of what we do here at the studio (more people ask than you might think.)

This version of the BA Studio website will focus a lot more on particular parts of projects instead of the entire campaign and just linking to the website. I want to give most projects the microscope treatment and show everyone what goes into making the rich media ads or the facebook pages.

Please give it a week or so until it’s properly filled with all the goodies.

The How To Train Your Dragon project was a full campaign that began months before the film was in theaters and utilized web development, rich media ads, blog design, writing, viral marketing and detailed analytic reporting for Dreamworks Animation.

The Job

Develop and Maintain a marketing campaign that utilized social media technology, traditional ads/rich media, and viral marketing.

  • Create a Tumblr blog for all ages that is simple and easy to use that features exclusive video, photos and news.
  • Utilize facebook to market directly towards fans via pages, status feeds and applications like quizzes and games.
  • Engage fans on YouTube.
  • Work with Tumblr community for syndication of media and news.

Official YouTube Channel

YouTube Channels are important for video branding. Before the official Dreamworks Animation YouTube Channel was created, a channel for How To Train Your Dragon was developed to feature blog videos.Custom CSS, graphics and YouTube Channel tools were utilized to make a beautiful channel for the fans.

Analytics

  • Detailed visitor stats for facebook page to track all fans.
